Attack on Titan The Final Season Anime

The official Twitter account for the Attack on Titan anime announced on Wednesday that two episodes of the Attack on Titan The Final Season Part 2 anime have been delayed due to "special programming."

Episode 87 will be delayed by one week, and it will premiere April 3 at 12:05 a.m. JST (effectively, April 4) instead of on March 27. Episode 84 will be delayed by 10 minutes, and it will premiere on March 6 at 12:15 a.m. JST (effectively, March 7).

The season's Part 2 premiered with episode 76, "Danzai" ("Sentencing"), on the NHK General channel on January 9. The second part features a returning staff, including director Yuichiro Hayashi at MAPPA, series scriptwriter Hiroshi Seko, character designer Tomohiro Kishi, and music composers Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta Yamamoto. The anime also features a returning cast.

Crunchyroll and Funimation are streaming Part 2 of the Attack on Titan The Final Season anime as it airs in Japan. Crunchyroll is streaming in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Russia, while Funimation is streaming in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Australia, and New Zealand.

The Attack on Titan The Final Season anime premiered on NHK in December 2020. Funimation and Crunchyroll are streaming the anime with English subtitles. Adult Swim's Toonami programming block began airing the anime in January 2021, and Funimation began streaming an English dub one day after it premiered on Toonami.

Attack on Titan Final Episode 87 Delayed, New Release Date Set

An upcoming episode of the Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 has been delayed, according to the official Twitter account for Attack on Titan (via Anime News Network).

Attack on Titan episode 87 of the hugely popular series will be delayed by a week, premiering on April 3, 2022, instead of its originally planned March 27, 2022 release date. The reason for the delay was noted as “special programming,” so it’s likely that something else in Japan will be taking up the time slot for the time being. Additionally, episode 84 of the show has been delayed 10 minutes, which is surely less of an inconvenience.

The second part of the final season of the hit anime will be available on Funimation, Crunchyroll, and Hulu. The first part premiered on NHK General TV back in December 2020.

Attack on Titan began as a manga series written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama. It was serialized in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine between September 2009 and April 2021. The first three seasons of the anime television adaptation were produced by Wit Studios and aired between April 2013 and July 2019. While the manga has concluded, the anime is still ongoing.

The Attack on Titan franchise has seen much success since it began in 2009 winning several awards, and becoming one of the best-selling manga series of all time. It has spun into other media as well, including video games and a live-action film.

Attack on Titan the Final Season Episode 87 to be Delayed 1 Week

An unknown "special event" is scheduled to take place on March 27, pushing the episode back to April 3.

Attack on Titan The Final Season’s 87th episode will be delayed by 1 week, the anime’s official Twitter account announced on Wednesday. The exact reason behind the delay is still unknown, though a “special event” will occur in its place.

Episode 87 will air on April 3 instead of March 27. The anime’s 84th episode will be delayed by 10 minutes, airing at 12:15 a.m. on March 6th instead of 12:05 a.m. Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan manga series was serialized in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine from 2009-2021 under the Shōnen Magazine Comics imprint. The highly popular series inspired an equally successful anime adaptation, various novels, manga spin-offs, video games, and a live-action film.

The Attack on Titan anime adaptation premiered during the Spring 2013 season, with the first season running for 25 episodes. Wit Studio animated the first three seasons of the series, with MAPPA taking over for the fourth and final season.

Tetsurō Araki (Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, Death Note) directed the first three seasons, with Masashi Koizuka (Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, Hanasaku Iroha: Blossoms for Tomorrow) serving as assistant director for the second and third seasons, and Yasuko Kobayashi (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean, Claymore) handling the series composition.

Yuichiro Hayashi (Garo: The Animation, Kakegurui) took over as director for the final season alongside Jun Shishido (Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger, Tales of Saiunkoku). Hiroshi Seko (Ajin: Demi-Human, Inuyashiki) served as a scriptwriter for the first three seasons and handles the series composition for the final season. Hiroyuki Sawano (Kill la Kill, Promare) composes the series’ music alongside Kohta Yamamoto (86, Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga).
