LeVar Burton Closing Deal to Host Trivial Pursuit Game Show on The CW

The CW is reportedly finalizing a deal for LeVar Burton's game show based on Trivial Pursuit. It's looking like the Trivial Pursuit game show hosted by LeVar Burton might have finally found its home. The CW has reportedly been finalizing a deal to pick up the game show, per Deadline. It's an update that comes nearly two years after it was first reported that Burton had teamed up with eOne to host a new game show based on Trivial Pursuit. The Star Trek: The Next Generation star is serving as an executive producer on the series in addition to his plans to host. It comes after Burton served as a guest host for Jeopardy! following the passing of Alex Trebek, a job that he'd campaigned for only to find that it wasn't the right fit for him in the end. "Trivial Pursuit is one of the best-known brands in the gaming universe. I am thrilled to have partnered with Hasbro and eOne to bring this beloved game to market as a premium show for television," Burton said in a

Marvel Unleashed Assembles a New Generation of Pet Avengers

Marvel's next epic mystery has just brought together a whole new team of superheroic animals, but can they really replace the Pet Avengers? The concept of high-flying heroes having their own animal companions is nothing new in the realm of pop culture, and certainly not in the Marvel Universe. Over the years, heroes ranging all the way from Doctor Strange to Bucky Barnes have opened their arms to pets just as incredible as their owners. However, these four-legged friends rarely get to spend any time in the spotlight for themselves. Thankfully, Marvel Unleashed #1 (by Kyle Starks, Jesús Hervás, Yen Nitro, and VC's Joe Caramagna) has just opened the door for some of the most iconic Pet Avengers to take the center stage. Better yet, it has also introduced at least one all new canine crime-fighter who could easily become the next fan-favorite among Marvel audiences. That is, assuming she and the rest of her newfound allies survive long enough to leave a lasting impact in the first

Everything To Know About Attack on Titan The Final Season

The Rumbling has begun, and fans are anxiously awaiting AOT's epic conclusion to see who will survive in the end. After The Big Three, Attack on Titan is arguably the only shonen action anime to rile the fandom up. Hajime Isayama's culmination of a catastrophe-stricken dystopia took the world by storm and became one of the most popular anime of the modern era. After almost 88 episodes distributed across four seasons and multiple parts, the Titan saga is coming to an end later in 2023. The reason why AoT is such a hit is not because it has an overpowered MC or over-the-top action – the beauty of this anime is its complicated yet well-crafted plot, political maneuvering, and realistic characters. The show keeps the audience on the edge of their seats because no character is safe in Attack on Titan. It's the final round in Attack on Titan, and it's Eren Yeager against the rest of the world. After discovering his lineage, the atrocities committed against the Eldians, and re

Batman's Greatest Ally Predicted His Worst Defeat - But He Didn't Listen

The Dark Knight Trilogy showed a fallible version of Bruce Wayne. But his greatest mistake came when he failed to listen to his greatest ally. One of Batman's most defining traits over the decades has been his innate ability to prepare for any situation. As a result, any enemy of Batman might be shocked at how resourceful the vigilante is, as there's little to no room for surprises in his war against crime. Yet, some stories show a more realistic take on the character that has played up the humanity of the character and the reality that no one can be as skilled and resourceful as Batman. This world was where Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Trilogy thrived, offering a critical look at the man behind the cowl. Batman Begins is a traditional Batman story about a man with a desire to clean up his city, moving forward with his obsession and becoming a shadowy hero. But unlike stories that propped Batman up on a pedestal, The Dark Knight Trilogy showed a version of Bruce who

Adam Driver Puts Amazon and Netflix on Blast for Not Meeting Actors' Demands

Adam Driver questions the streaming giants' inability to consider strike demands at the Venice Film Festival’s press conference for Ferrari. Ferrari star Adam Driver called out Netflix and Amazon’s refusal to meet SAG-AFTRA demands deliberate, in light of support received from smaller distribution companies. Driver took the opportunity to speak in behalf of SAG-AFTRA interests on Thursday. The actor was present to promote his movie Ferrari at the Venice Film Festival press conference, in compliance with interim agreements hashed out ahead of the event. Variety reports Driver was grateful for the opportunity to represent both the movie and the industry even as the actor and writer strikes continue. "I'm very proud to be here to be a visual representation of a movie that's not part of the AMPTP and to promote the SAG leadership directive, which is an effective tactic, which is the interim agreement," he said. The actor commended Ferrari’s production company for its

Thor Cinematographer Reveals the Reasoning Behind a Key Creative Decision

Thor cinematographer Haris Zambarloukos breaks down the driving factors behind a creative decision which informed the MCU film’s visual style. Thor Cinematographer Haris Zambarloukos has revealed why the God of Thunder's debut MCU film uses so many Dutch angle shots, where the camera is at a slant. While speaking with The Direct, Zambarloukos admitted that choosing to so heavily use Dutch angle shots throughout 2011's Thor “was a hard decision to make." He then began to unpack the nuance of Thor's tilted frames: "But it seemed to be a very simple way of showing kind of the difference between dissonance and harmony in a character or a landscape, and without much, and it seemed to work in that graphic world that the comic books had come from. And it also seemed to trace back to the German expressionist idea of delving deep into the soul and into the psyche." Zambarloukos also drew a connection to Thor's original roots. "And Thor is a kind of mythologic

Doctor Who Will Stream Globally in November - Here's How US Fans Can Watch Season 14

When Doctor Who returns in November, it will have a new home in the US. Here's how fans can catch the 60th anniversary specials and Season 14. Big changes are on the way for Doctor Who. Not only are a new Doctor and a new companion Ruby Sunday (played by Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson respectively) going to be leading the series, but even bigger changes are happening behind the scenes. Russell T Davies is coming back as the series' showrunner, having previously served as head writer and executive producer when Doctor Who first returned to television in 2005. Davies is joined by his fellow former executives Julie Gardner and Jane Tranter, along with their production company, Bad Wolf. Possibly the biggest behind-the-scenes shakeup, however, is Doctor Who's new international home on Disney+. It was confirmed in Oct. 2022 that the new series of Doctor Who would see the BBC and Disney Branded Television working together to bring the sci-fi series to audiences in the UK and overs

Starfield: A Complete Guide to Surveying Planets

Surveying planets is a significant aspect of exploration and discovery in Starfield, but the process is a bit convoluted. One of Starfield's most prominent features is the hundreds of planets that populate its universe, each ripe for discovery and exploration. Upon landing on the surface of one of these planets, players are given the opportunity to collect data for a planet survey that can later be turned in for Credits and XP, barring they pick up a Constellation survey mission before heading out. To survey a planet, players will be required to scan the various lifeforms and structures on its surface using their hand scanner. To ensure they get the most out of their survey runs, however, it's recommended that players unlock and upgrade the Surveying skill in the Science tree to increase the effectiveness of their hand scanner. Surveying planets can be a fairly extensive process, depending on the complexity of a planet and the amount of data players are required to collect in o

Fast & Furious 11 Director Teases Character Shift for Jason Momoa's Villain

Fast X: Part 2 helmer Louis Leterrier suggests fans will see a different Dante Reyes in the upcoming sequel of the star-studded action film franchise. Fast X director Louis Leterrier hints that moviegoers will see a different version of Jason Momoa's androgynous and savage villain in Fast X: Part 2 as he continues his fight for vengeance. Speaking with Empire, Leterrier insisted that Momoa's character, Dante Reyes, will "evolve" in Fast X: Part 2, suggesting there are sides of the big bad Fast & Furious fans have yet to see. The French helmer played up Dante's "duality" while praising Momoa's ability to switch up personalities seamlessly while performing. "It’s never twice the same with Jason. Dante will truly evolve. Let’s explore something we haven’t seen before," Leterrier said. "He was fuelled by vengeance. He could have played it dark, angry. But it was interesting to play with the duality and the push-pull within the characte

CD Projekt Confirms Why Phantom Liberty Will be the Only Cyberpunk 2077 DLC

CD Projekt recently confirmed that their switch to the Unreal Engine is the reason Phantom Liberty will be the one and only Cyberpunk 2077 DLC. CD Projekt Red confirmed the reason why they have no plans for further expansions for Cyberpunk 2077 despite its recent resurgence. In a quarterly earnings call this week, the Polish developer said that the decision to cap off Cyberpunk's development with the Phantom Liberty expansion was a purely "technological" decision as a result of an engine change for the sequel. According to SVP of business development for CD Projekt Michał Nowakowski, the company has moved over to the Unreal Engine instead of their in-house Red Engine, which would complicate the development of any further expansions. “It’s a technological decision to be honest,” Nowakowski said. “This is the last time we’re working on the Red Engine for the time being at least, and in the foreseeable future as you know we are working on the Unreal Engine from Epic." EXCLUSIVE: Learn What Led the X-Men's Emma Frost to Her Wedding to Tony Stark

Emma Frost prepares for her shocking wedding to Tony Stark in this CBR exclusive preview of next week's X-Men #26 Emma Frost goes through a number of changes in her life in the wake of the Hellfire Gala tragedy, and these changes set the scene for Frost marrying Tony Stark in this CBR exclusive preview of next week's X-Men #26. X-Men #26 comes from writer Gerry Duggan, artists Javier Pina and Jim Towe, colorist Marte Gracia and letterer Clayton Cowles, and continues the Fall of X crossover, which kicked off with this year's X-Men: Hellfire Gala #1, where the X-Men's annual celebration of mutant life on the island nation of Krakoa was interrupted by a devastating sneak attack by the anti-mutant organization, Orchis. Armed with a way to turn all the medicine that the X-Men had made for humans into a deadly delivery system, Orchis was able to blackmail Charles Xavier into sending almost all the mutants on Krakoa through teleportation gates, nominally to Mars. However, a ha

One Piece: Kizaru –The Underrated Admiral With a Terrifying Devil Fruit

Admiral Kizaru's Glint-Glint fruit is more powerful than fans realize – the Navy Admiral could be a powerful foe the Straw Hats must face in the end. When One Piece fans think of powerful admirals, they often mention Akainu and Aokiji, the lava and ice specialists, while overlooking Kizaru. Unfortunately, the light-wielding admiral has always been held back by perceptions. Many fans view Kizaru to be an older, lazier, and potentially less capable fighter than his fellow admirals while ignoring the fact that he has had fewer opportunities to demonstrate the full extent of his powers, unlike Aokiji, Akainu, and even the more recently introduced Fujitora. However, while the other aforementioned admirals are incredibly powerful and have proven feats, Kizaru's Devil Fruit is light years ahead in terms of potential. His fruit, the Glint-Glint fruit (Pika-Pika no Mi) holds the potential to be one of the most powerful in the world of One Piece. By the end of the series, the misundersto

Our Flag Means Death Hits the High Seas With Season 2 Trailer

Our Flag Means Death sets sail as the Season 2 Trailer teases the upcoming high sea drama. The period romantic-comedy, Our Flag Means Death is set to arrive with its Season 2 on Max. The role of Bonnet is portrayed by Rhys Darby, as the character goes through an unexpected love affair with the enigmatic real-life pirate Edward "Ed" Teach, popularly known as Blackbeard, played by actor and filmmaker Taika Waititi. Dune: Part Two's Delay Could Actually Help the Movie Succeed at the Box Office

Dune: Part Two was unfortunately delayed, but this might allow it to be properly promoted and succeed during a better year at the box office. Dune: Part Two was one of 2023's most anticipated upcoming movie releases. Unfortunately, that's no longer the case, as the film was one of the latest movies to be delayed amid Hollywood's current strikes. It's definitely frustrating for fans who want to see the rest of Frank Herbert's epic novel adapted into a modern masterpiece, especially considering the positive reception to its predecessor. Still, this could be the best move to make for the Denis Villeneuve movie. The 2021 Dune was definitely a gamble, and this was compounded by its release schedule. The lack of formal promotion for Dune: Part Two is a risk in its own right, and it might keep it from building upon the first movie's success in the way that many expect it to. Add in the performances of several big blockbusters in 2023, and it's in the best interest

One Piece Creator Expresses the Importance of a Strong Female Cast

One Piece's creator explains why his female characters are so strong and independent. One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda has said it was vital for the heroines of the manga to be strong, capable women. Oda recently sat down with the New York Times to discuss the popular franchise ahead of its live-action adaptation debut. Many topics were brought up during the interview and things eventually shifted to the portrayal of the women in One Piece. At this, Oda happily noted that to him, it was important to show his female characters, especially his heroines, being capable characters alongside the male characters. One Piece Creator Supports Powerful Women in Fiction He spoke about “women with intelligence like Robin, or with abilities like Nami.” He further noted that even the villainous women of One Piece had strength and capabilities that put them on par with the male cast, both good and bad. Other characters that have stood out over the years thanks to Oda’s writing include Black Maria, C

The Equalizer 3 Set for Solid Domestic Opening at Box Office

The Equalizer 3 targets a solid return at the domestic box office as the Sony Pictures title nears its release in time for Labor Day weekend. The Equalizer 3 hopes to be as hard-hitting at the box office as it is with its action sequences as the upcoming thriller looks set for a solid opening weekend in theaters. Per Variety, The Equalizer threequel is expected to earn between $28 million and $30 million in domestic ticket sales between Sept. 1 and 3 at it's expected the movie will comfortably top the box office going up against another new release in Neill Blomkamp's Gran Turismo. The projected box-office tally could reach as high as $40 million by Sept. 4 to round out Labor Day weekend. Despite the solid projection, The Equalizer 3's opening weekend pales in comparison to the previous two installments of the titular film series, which is based on the popular CBS series of the same name which aired from 1985 to 1989. The Equalizer enjoyed a debut weekend take of $34 millio

The Aroused Anime Nosebleed's Origin - and Its Scientific Plausibility

From Master Roshi to Sanji, nosebleeds when aroused are a familiar trope to anime fans. But are they possible in real life? For decades, it's been a staple in many comedy anime for a character to get a nosebleed when they see an attractive person. It's almost as old as the genre itself. Those who grew up watching anime in the '90s and early '00s have probably seen it happen at least once, especially when watching shows with a lot of fan service. But why do anime characters get nose bleeds when they encounter someone they find attractive or catch a peek at a scantily clad member of the opposite sex? The root of the anime nosebleed trope lies in superstition reflected in art. The concept of the nose starting to bleed because of sexual arousal is one of these superstitions. Like many superstitions, there is often a grain of truth somewhere at the root, but how true is that in this scenario? The real question on everyone's mind is whether it's scientifically possibl

The Major Nintendo Series That Haven't Made It To The Switch

With a Switch successor seemingly imminent, which franchises have yet to come to Nintendo's best-selling home system? The Nintendo Switch has seen a plethora of games Nintendo fans have been requesting for years finally come to fruition. Between the long-anticipated follow-up to Pokémon Snap, the elusive Metroid Dread, the return of Advance Wars, and later this year a remake of Super Mario RPG, many games that once seemed impossible are all available to play on Nintendo's hybrid system. While the Switch boasts one of the most diverse first-party libraries in Nintendo history, not every series has had the luxury of making the jump to the platform. With the window of opportunity for them to do so narrowing as the Switch ages, Nintendo has precious little time remaining to implement some of its most iconic games into the Switch's twilight years. Star Fox is One of Nintendo's Most Cherished—and Troubled—Series Created by Shigeru Miyamoto, the Star Fox series started life as

Hot Take: Guy Gardner Has Had the Most Development of Any Green Lantern

Guy Gardner isn't exactly a very likable Green Lantern, but he has a lot of depth and has changed over the years from his most obnoxious incarnations. The Green Lantern Corps is made up of selfless, heroic and valiant individuals who answer the call to fight evil via the power of their willpower. Among the Corps' ranks are some of the most level-headed and undaunted heroes in the galaxy - as well as Guy Gardner. The brusque and uncouth GLC member isn't always the nicest person, but he's far more than just a bad attitude and a worse haircut. Guy Gardner has had tremendous character development throughout the years, with his most abrasive incarnation now being mostly a thing of the past. He's also changed the color of his ring quite a bit, with his backstory seeing similar adjustments. This has afforded Guy a wealth of growth that isn't seen in some of the other Green Lanterns, making him much more than a one-note character. Guy Gardner Began as Hal Jordan With a
