Jason Momoa shuts down rumors he rekindled romance with ex Lisa Bonet
Jason Momoa has shut down rumors he reconciled with his ex-wife Lisa Bonet. The couple announced their split after five years of marriage back in January but a report recently claimed they had gotten back together. Momoa, 42, put the rumors to bed on the Oscars red carpet, where he told Access Hollywood they were still separated.
'We're not back together,' he said. 'We're family. We have two beautiful children together.'
Jason announced his split from wife Lisa back in January after a 16 year relationship. The former couple married in 2017 and share two children, Lola, 14, and Nakoa-Wolf, 13.
But a HollywoodLife report recently claimed the couple had reconciled.
'Jason moved back in with Lisa about two weeks ago, and they are very much back together,' a friend of the actor told the site. 'They decided to work on things rather than throw in the towel because they have so much invested in each other.'
Game Of Thrones star Jason and Cosby Show actress Lisa, 54, announced they were separating in a joint statement shared to Jason's Instagram account in January.
Their statement read: 'We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times… A revolution is unfolding and our family is of no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring.
'And so we share our Family news that we are parting ways in marriage.'
The couple explained in their statement that they weren't announcing their separation 'because we think it's newsworthy, but so that as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty.'
'The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived. We free each other to be who we are learning to become.
The continued: 'Our devotion unwavering to this sacred life & our Children,' they concluded. 'Teaching our Children What's possible ~ Living the Prayer.
'May Love Prevail,' they added, signing off as 'J & L.'
Momoa and Bonet romance goes back to 2004, when they were introduced by mutual friends at a jazz club performance.
In 2019, Momoa admitted to Esquire that he had been obsessed with Bonet during her stint on the Cosby show when he was young.
'I mean, I didn't tell her that. I didn't let her know I was a stalker until after we had the kids,' he joked, adding 'if someone says something isn't possible, I'm like, "Listen here, I married Lisa Bonet.
Jason Momoa Addresses Rumors That He & Lisa Bonet Have Gotten Back Together
Jason Momoa is responding to the speculation about his relationship with Lisa Bonet.
In January of this year, the pair confirmed that they would be separating after over 15 years of marriage.
Shortly after their announcement, reports began circulating that they had reconciled and would be giving their marriage another shot.
While arriving at the 2022 Oscars on Sunday (March 27), the Dune star addressed the rumors.
“We’re not back together. We’re family,” he told Access Hollywood. “We have two beautiful children together.”
His comments echo what he told reporters during an appearance to support step daughter Zoe Kravitz and her new movie, The Batman, where he said they were “still family.”
Jason was spotted spending time with another famous actress at the Oscars, with an inside source saying the pair were looking “flirty.
Despite reports of a possible reconciliation for actors Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet, the couple is ‘not getting back together,’ according to Momoa.
The “Dune” star delivered the crushing news on the red carpet Sunday night before the 94th-Annual Academy Awards. “We’re not back together. We’re family.… We have two beautiful children together,” Momoa told Scott Evans and Zuri Hall of “Access Hollywood.” He later reiterated, “We’re not getting back together. We’re family forever.”
However, fans online didn’t appear to buy the “Aquaman” star’s story, including one YouTube viewer who commented, “I don’t believe it.” Another person wrote, “Hollywood ruins people!!”
Meanwhile, the heated incident between Will Smith and Chris Rock at this year’s ceremony appeared to leave some folks in the comments section uneasy, including one critic who wrote, “I don’t think it’s very nice to ask about painful parts of their lives unless they bring it up. It’s so awkward and rude.” That person added, “That’s why Chris Rock got slapped. Some things are off limits.”
“Saddens me that they’re not together anymore. I was hoping it would work for them. I cannot picture one of them with anybody else,” wrote a fourth person.
The former couple, which has been together since 2005, announced the news in a joint statement via Momoa’s social media account that the two were splitting after four years of marriage.
“We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times… A revolution is unfolding and our family is of no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring,” they wrote at the time.
They continued, “We share this not because we think it’s newsworthy, but so that, as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty. The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and live. We free each other to be who we are learning to become….”
The former child star and the action film star share two children: Lola, whom they welcomed in 2007, and their second child, Nakoa-Wolf, born in December 2008. The actress is also mom to “The Batman” star Zoë Kravitz, whom she shares with her ex-husband, singer Lenny Kravitz.
