Marvel Fans React to Daniel Radcliffe's Shredded Physique: 'Make Him Wolverine Already'

Many Marvel fans have been renewing the call for Daniel Radcliffe to play Wolverine in the MCU's X-Men reboot.

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has become more solidified as a fan favorite choice to play Wolverine in a new X-Men movie.

Recently, Radcliffe showed off his impressive physical transformation for his role in the TV series Miracle Workers. Images and footage of a scene featuring the actor stripping down to his underwear, all the while acting maniacally, went viral shortly after the episode's airing. Countless Marvel fans have been stressing how the scene proves better than ever that Radcliffe would be perfect to play the next Logan in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even the popular digital artist BossLogic got involved by adding some adamantium claws to an image of Radcliffe.

While Radcliffe may be looking the part more so than ever with his latest role, it's nothing new for him to be suggested by fans as Wolverine. Last year, the WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story star revealed that he'd been getting asked about the potential casting so often, that he was starting to have some fun with it. He joked to GQ, "I say something [about possibly getting the role], and then occasionally I get bored of answering that way so I say something different, and that sets it off again. I should just never open my mouth."

Daniel Radcliffe Has Found the Fantasy Casting Flattering

There's still no telling when Marvel Studios will actually start casting new actors to play X-Men characters in the MCU, and it doesn't appear that Radcliffe has had any formal talks with Marvel Studios about the possibility. Even so, he admits that the fan demand for him to play Logan has been very flattering. In a separate interview on The Tonight Show last year, Radcliffe told Jimmy Fallon just how flattering it was while theorizing that his height is mostly what had fans sold on the idea.

"I think it's because Wolverine, in the comics, is fairly short," Radcliffe explained. "So, I think it's people going, 'Who's a short actor? Him! He can maybe play him.' I mean, anything that implies the fleetingest similarity to Hugh Jackman is incredibly flattering, so I'm happy with that."

At this point, fans clearly feel that Radcliffe has the right body for the role as well, but time will tell if the casting ever happens. Meanwhile, fans will get to see Jackman delivering one last performance as his version of Logan for the upcoming movie Deadpool 3. With the superhero movie rumored to feature many multiverse cameos, there's always the possibility that Radcliffe's Wolverine could pop up as a surprise, potentially to meet Jackman's Logan.
