Yu Yu Hakusho Manga Is Now Available To Read Online

The famed manga Yu Yu Hakusho, which became a beloved anime, has finally been put online for everyone to read and enjoy.

Viz Media has compiled the entire Yu Yu Hakusho manga collection and put it online for fans to read.

YYK's animation adaptation recently celebrated its 30th anniversary, but despite the franchise's popularity, the manga has been hard to find, especially in the digital sense. Physical editions can be found online, but their prices are rather high. However, Viz Media has corrected this issue by uploading every chapter, which is 175 total, to their Shonen Jump service. The first three chapters are free to read, while the rest can be unlocked by signing up for their monthly service. Readers can do so for under $3.

What Is Yu Yu Hakusho?

To those who haven't had a chance to enjoy the manga or the anime, here's an official description for Yu Yu Hakusho: "Yusuke Urameshi was a tough teen delinquent until one selfless act changed his life...by ending it. When he died saving a little kid from a speeding car, the afterlife didn't know what to do with him, so it gave him a second chance at life. Now, Yusuke is a ghost with a mission, performing good deeds at the behest of Botan, the spirit guide of the dead, and Koenma, her pacifier-sucking boss from the 'other side.' But what strange things await him on the borderline between life and death?"

That description covers the first volume of the series, which plays more as a "slice-of-life" tale than anything else. But as longtime fans know, the series cranks up incredibly from there as Yusuku meets allies and foes that force him to grow the spirit powers that now dwell within him. Yu Yu Hakusho became revered in both manga and anime form for its incredible action and characters. The "main four" cast each had key moments that defined them throughout the series, and the villains are still hailed to this day.

Many regard YYK's anime adaptation as one of the greatest anime ever created. The animation and storytelling were transferred masterfully from page to anime, and the voice acting helped make the show even grander. Thirty years later, fans still discuss the series and watch it on services like Hulu. But now, those who haven't read the original stories and wish to see where the anime got its legendary tale can be read in full without issue.

Fans can read the entire Yu Yu Hakusho story right now.
