Marvel Releases Captain Marvel Variant Covers

Marvel releases new variant covers of the first issue of Captain Marvel's upcoming run.


Carol Danvers’ new run is quickly approaching and Marvel just released nine new variant covers for Captain Marvel #1.


As writer Alyssa Wong and artist Jan Bazaldua are bringing fans and Captain Marvel into a “new era,” so are several gifted artists. Ricky Yagawa, Jen Bartel, David Nakayama, Paco Medina, Todd Nauck, Jan Bazaldua, Jonathan Tyler Christopher and Joshua “Sway” Swaby bring their talents to the new run through stunning variant covers for the first issue. And, Marvel invites fans to “Check out all nine now”.


Captain Marvel’s New Run is Full of Twist and Turns


The upcoming run comes with a lot of changes for Carol. She gets a new costume, an unlikely ally and a brand-new villain. “October’s CAPTAIN MARVEL #1 will be a parade of exciting debuts as Carol sports an all-new costume courtesy of artist Jen Bartel, gains an unlikely partner in a street thief named Yuna, and becomes the target of a dangerously fresh new archenemy known as the Omen,” said Marvel.


The publisher isn’t the only one looking forward to the new run, series author Wong excitedly stated "I'm so excited to be writing Captain Marvel!” The writer continued “Carol is such an iconic character with a rich history, and I can't wait to add to her story. It's an honor to work with Jan and I hope everyone enjoys what we've got coming!"


Artist Bazaldua also expressed her enthusiasm about the upcoming comics. "Captain Marvel is one of my favorite female characters, that's why I'm very excited to draw her," she said. "I have always seen her as a very self-confident woman with nothing she cannot face, and not just because she has super-powers, but because she has inner strength. That’s what I really enjoy about her and why I really appreciate this opportunity," Bazaldua explained.


Captain Marvel #1 will be available in comic book stores and participating digital platforms on October 25, 2023, from Marvel Comics.

Netflix shares a sneak peek of the miniseries Griselda, created by the team behind Narcos & starring Sofía Vergara as Miami drug lord Griselda Blanco. Netflix gives viewers their first look at the upcoming miniseries Griselda, produced by and starring Sofía Vergara. First shared by Entertainment Weekly, the preview images show Vergara in the title role as Griselda Blanco, a Colombian immigrant who became involved in America's burgeoning cocaine business in the 1970s and a prominent figure in the Miami drug wars of '80's. The series was created by Eric Newman and Ingrid Escajeda alongside Doug Miro and Carlo Bernand, who previously created the similarly-themed Narcos for the streamer. Loki Season 2 executive producer Kevin Wright confirms that the production hasn't downsized Jonathan Majors' role despite his ongoing legal issues.
