Insidious: The Red Door's Biggest Plot Holes and Unanswered Mysteries
Insidious: The Red Door has the Lamberts fighting forces from the Further once again. But while it's a simple story, there are many cracks.
As Insidious: The Red Door unfolds, the franchise goes back to basics by unleashing the Lipstick Face Demon again. This time, the entity has a lot more power over Josh and Dalton Lambert, intent on claiming the latter as his own. Patrick Wilson directs this outing and brings his Josh back into action against the being that initially targeted him years ago. But this time, the being has a greater reach.
That said, it's a straightforward film that nods to the first chapter of the Further. Once more, Josh has to travel to the macabre realm to get his son back, which feels like an apropos note for Wilson to say goodbye. However, as simple as the plot is, cracks in the narrative and quaint mysteries arise, taking momentum and creative energy away from the story.
