Did Arleen Sorkin Stop Playing Harley Quinn Because of Harley's Arkham Asylum Outfit?

In the latest Comic Book Legends Revealed, see whether Arleen Sorkin really stopped voicing Harley Quinn because of Harley's Arkham Asylum makeover Welcome to the 908th installment of Comic Book Legends Revealed, a column where we examine three comic book myths, rumors and legends and confirm or debunk them. This time, in honor of the passing of the great Arleen Sorkin, all three legends will be Harley Quinn-related. In our third legend, see whether Arleen Sorkin stopped voicing Harley Quinn in the Arkham video games because she objected to how Harley was depicted. An interesting aspect of Harley Quinn's popularity as a character is that she debuted outside the world of comic books, debuting in Batman: The Animated Series, but perhaps the biggest moment in terms of her overall popularity ALSO occurred outside the comic book world, as it was Harley's appearance in the blockbuster 2009 video game, Batman: Arkham Asylum, that really helped to catapult Harley to a major charact

When Marvel Launched Its Barbie Comics, It Included Barbie...Credit Cards?

When Marvel launched its Barbie comic book line, the first issues came with an unusual bonus, Barbie...credit cards?! Knowledge Waits is a feature where I just share some bit of comic book history that interests me. Today, I discuss how Marvel included Barbie "credit cards" in the first issues of Marvel's line of Barbie comics in the early 1990s. One of the great challenges in the world of dolls is the concept of verisimilitude. In general, kids love it when their dolls mimic real life, but there is always a question of how much "reality" is TOO much reality. In the recent blockbuster Barbie film, the movie pokes fun at some of Mattel's past attempts at mimicking real life that likely went TOO far, like the Skipper doll meant to mimic puberty by showing her breasts getting larger, or the toy dog that actually poops out little round feces balls. A specific challenge with Barbie is that she is inherently a character that is connected to shopping, since Barbie

As the brutal

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom Finally Gets First Teaser Trailer

The first teaser trailer for Aquaman 2 has finally arrived with the full trailer coming on Thursday. Warner Bros. Discovery and DC have released the first teaser trailer for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Ahead of the film's release in December, fans had been questioning when a trailer for the Aquaman sequel would finally arrive. The movie has already set the record for having the shortest wait between the trailer's release and the film's premiere in theaters for any DCEU movie, and there were rumors emerging that the studio would be abandoning the marketing for the film entirely. A new teaser released on Sunday night confirms that isn't the case, however, revealing about 30 seconds of footage from the upcoming sequel. It's also noted in the teaser that the full trailer will be released on Thursday. While the teaser is brief, it does provide a sneak peek at what's to come in the long-awaited sequel. That includes the showdown between Jason Momoa's Aquaman and

The series has not only kicked off on a positive note but is also already slated for a second season. TWD: Daryl Dixon Tackles a Worn Out Trope That Should Be Retired

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is the next show to give into the popular badass and child trope, even if the cliché has run its course. There's something people love about a mean grown man opening his heart to a young child. Film, television shows and video games have taken advantage of this infatuation countless times, and it's almost always welcomed. The next show to get on this bandwagon is The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, even if it feels like viewers have seen this show before. In the premiere episode, "L'âme Perdue," Daryl is asked by a French nun named Isabelle to escort a young child named Laurent whose prophesied to be the next messiah to restore the world. Like Daryl, most viewers are probably thinking this is a bit of reach. But Laurent supposedly has these "gifts" because of odd circumstances of his birth, meaning he was literally born to save humanity. The kid's a bit strange and socially awkward, but he's taken a liking to Daryl as his

How Star Wars Failed Heroic Clone Commander Thorn

Commander Thorn was a promising Clone Commander, but unfortunately Star Wars made a huge mistake of never picking up on his full potential. Star Wars: The Clone Wars featured numerous promising Clone Commanders such as Commander Wolffe and Commander Cody. With executive producer George Lucas, The Clone Wars took a closer look at the underappreciated clones in the Star Wars universe, providing fans with a refreshing alternative to the excess amount of on-screen Jedi. One Clone Commander struck fans as especially interesting and quickly became a promising figure before The Clone Wars sadly ended his character in the same episode. Clone Commander Thorn's Star Wars legacy lived on and his iconic final scene was still thrilling and heartbreaking in the years that followed the end of The Clone Wars. As the series had a huge rewatch potential, fans were wondering if the series might have benefited from letting Commander Thorn stick around a bit longer. Who was Clone Commander Thorn in Sta

Gen V's Jaz Sinclair explains the inner conflict raging within her character, Marie Moreau, in the Boys spinoff's upcoming first season. "And she's chosen following the rules in moments that have gotten her into some trouble with her friends, but I think that ultimately she's choosing to be a real hero and to do the right thing, even if it is at her own expense -- even though she's wanted more than anything forever to be in the Seven." Sinclair's comments indicate that Marie will eventually commit to exposing the dark secrets at the heart of

Good Omens Co-Creator Originally Wanted Hugh Grant to Play Aziraphale

Good Omens co-creator and writer Neil Gaiman reveals that he originally envisioned Hugh Grant as Aziraphale early in the show's development. While Michael Sheen may have earned plenty of praise for his performance as Aziraphale in Good Omens, co-creator Neil Gaiman originally pictured a very different actor in the angelic role. Writing on his personal Tumblr account, the acclaimed writer explained that since Sheen was originally meant to play Crowley, he was hoping Hugh Grant might have joined the series. "I remember spending a lot of time pondering who Aziraphale could be back when Crowley was going to be Michael, and I think Hugh Grant was a leading contender in my head, but then somewhere in the middle of writing episode 3 Crowley became David Tennant and Michael Sheen became Aziraphale and once that had been decided it couldn’t have been anyone else," Gaiman noted. He also briefly touches on how he thinks the demonic protagonist would have been different if Sheen had

Why Blade’s New Partner is a Better Sidekick Than His Daughter

While on the hunt, Blade has picked up a new partner who will help Marvel's most famous vampire hunter grow as a hero in a way Bloodline couldn't. The Daywalker may be best known for his solo adventures, but despite being a lone wolf, this son of the bat is no stranger to fighting alongside partners. Recent developments have, however, blessed Blade with a number of potential partners, chief of which his daughter, Bloodline. Despite her blood connection to the Daywalker, vampire powers and her own mission to put down the things that haunt the night, there is another potential partner out there that would suit Blade far better. After the eponymous Daywalker, in Blade 2023 #1 (by Bryan Edward Hill, Elena Casagrande, Jordie Bellaire, Cory Petit and Wilson Moss), finds himself manipulated into killing the only person capable of slaying the eldritch terror known as the Adana, he ends up joining forces with Rotha, a young woman from the very mystic cult who had trained the Adana’s wou

Which Naruto Characters Die in Boruto?

Most of Naurto's beloved characters are alive, but a few didn't survive the sequel series Boruto. Naruto is one of the most popular anime and manga series of all time, so it is not surprising that it would receive a sequel series. Boruto follows a new generation of shinobi who grow up in a relatively peaceful ninja world. That being said, there are still conflicts and dangerous enemies to deal with. A number of good and evil Boruto characters have died in these conflicts, and a small number of Naruto characters have also died. Boruto's first manga chapter showed a destroyed Hidden Leaf Village, which led many fans to assume that either Naruto or Sasuke were dead, but they are both alive, at least for the time being. Whenever a named character died in Naruto, it was a fairly significant moment, and each death in Boruto has had an impact as well. A sequel like Boruto would normally kill off legacy characters in order to make room for new characters, but that has fortunately n

How Old is Wolverine (& Can he Actually Die)?

Wolverine is one the most famous Marvel heroes of all time, yet not even his fellow X-Men know how old he truly is or how his healing factor works. Wolverine's popularity has always been rather surprising. The character is virtually defined by his sass and violence, and he's the type of the character who easily could have turned fans off. However, Wolverine persevered, thanks to the caliber of his writing over the years. The legendary X-Men member has a huge presence in media of all types, but the comics are where the most questions about Wolverine get answered. Wolverine is a near unstoppable combatant, his healing factor and adamantium skeleton allowing to survive attacks that would kill basically anyone else. This resilience, as well as the breadth of the character's history, has caused people to ask two questions about Wolverine: how old is he and can he actually die? There are mostly concrete answers to both questions, although one is more solid than the other. The Pas

D&D Party Thwarts DM's Game Plan Using Dungeon Garbage

During a Dungeons & Dragons session, a resourceful party on Reddit created a brand new piece of equipment out of trash to help them survive a fight. A Dungeons & Dragons party outsmarted their DM by turning throwaway junk into makeshift footwear. The DM, who goes under the username PuffyPantaloons on Reddit, recounted the story on the DnD subreddit. After leading their party into a dungeon with a floor made completely out of sand, the DM had them cross paths with a spectator, a lesser version of the iconic D&D beholder, and a large, burrowing, insectoid monster called an ankheg. The DM originally planned for the sand floor to hinder the party with a drastic speed reduction, making the battle ten times harder. "I thought I was soooo smart," they wrote, "but I hadn't counted on their cockamamie plan to avoid the movement speed reduction." Creative D&D Problem Solving As it turned out, the party grabbed a couple of barrel lids from the previous room

Venom: Why Haven’t the Life Foundation Symbiotes Ever Become Popular?

Although Marvel primarily focuses on Venom and Carnage, there are several other symbiotes that have yet to attain the same degree of popularity. Venom is easily the most iconic and recognizable of Marvel's symbiotes, namely due to his relationship with Spider-Man. His popularity in the late '80s and early '90s saw the similar rise of his offspring/nemesis, Carnage. As with all good things, the concept was repeated ad nauseam with other symbiotes, although they weren't nearly as successful. For various reasons, these other symbiotes have all fallen by the wayside. Part of this is due to timing, but even the revival of Venom as a singular IP hasn't made them any more well-known. This goes for the symbiotes and their hosts, with none of these humans having the same renown as Eddie Brock or Cletus Kasady. Venom's First Series Introduced the Life Foundation's Symbiotes Created by David Michelinie and Todd McFarlane, the Life Foundation debuted in Amazing Spider-M

Does The Nun 2 Have a Post-Credits Scene?

Director Michael Chaves continues the story of Valak in The Nun II, leaving fans curious if there's a post-credits to expand this demonic story. One of the most intriguing aspects of Hollywood this year has been the swath of horror movies. Fans have seen the possession and exorcism genre hit fever pitch with the likes of Evil Dead Rise. Not to mention, movies like The Pope's Exorcist tried a new spin on demons taking hold of kids. It whets the appetites for The Exorcist: Believer later this year. Of course, one can't forget the Conjuring-Verse, which is setting the stage for a fourth movie featuring the Warrens. Well, director Michael Chaves is back after The Curse of La Llorona and The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, but this time he's detailing the story of Valak in The Nun II. Many thought the first Nun film wrapped things by connecting to the first Conjuring film, but this sequel helps bridge that gap. And make no mistake, for those who think there isn't a p

The Beautiful Romance Anime No One Is Watching

The Duke of Death and His Maid is a beautiful and cleverly written romance anime where the two main characters are cursed to never touch. Sometimes life is frustrating, unfair and just outright baffling. Currently, the second season of The Duke of Death and His Maid is airing, and once again, it's failing to reach the audience it deserves. For example, on the aggregator website animekarmawatch, The Duke of Death and His Maid has consistently ranked outside the top 20 anime for the season, and it's a crying shame. The Duke of Death and His Maid is a deftly written anime that carefully balances humor, romance, and the sad backstories of the two lead characters without ever veering toward melancholy. Viktor and Alice, the anime's two lead characters, make a perfect couple but are fated to never touch. Viktor, the titular Duke of Death, was cursed at a young age so that anything he touches dies. Alice, his romantic interest, continually pushes boundaries, teasing and trying to
